The Economy Was Top News Story of 2009

Written by Brianna Blake

Hello☆This time I read economy news.
I'm interested in economy and internationalization.
I want to know more and more economy news around the world.
In 2009, we saw many news.
Let's read it☆
I think top news is Mr. Obama became a president in 2009!!
After world war, nobody became a president by African-American people in the US.
But, in fact a African-American became the president☆
Now, We need new power in this century I think.
Because, American famous automakers filed for bancraptcy, and China going to come off second
position in GDP in the world.
In this year, a lot of thing was change in the world.
Japan has also change many thing.
Recentry, everything change more quickly than before.
Sometime, I feel this way is right way??
How about you ??

by Steave Ford
http://www.japantimes.co.jp/shukan-st/english_news/essay/2009/ey20091002/ey20091002main.htm?print=noframe

This time I want talk about healthcare.
Now I live in Japan, and I was thinking that Japanese healthcare system is natural in the world before.
But, My opinion is not truth in the world.
How about in America?
How about in Chinese?
How about in Africa...
Around the world has different type of system in healthcare.
America has not universal healthcare but, they can insure in a private company.
Before, I saw American hasband and wife said that "We need universal healthcare"
When I saw the TV, I felt American want to new deal.
And,this time Mr.Obama said that, "I will hammer out universal healthcare".
But,Republican Party said that "there is no mony in America".
Now,they can't believe Mr.Obama.
After that, how to proceed for the future in this problems.

***Words I couldn't understand***

1,fooling around:(遊び回る)
<to spend time doing something that you enjoy, but that does not have a particular purpose >
Having spent a lifetime of traveling and fooling around in a lot of different countries means that, in addition to enjoying various cultures and cuisines, I've also had a number of chances to experience the diversity of healthcare on offer throughout the world.
realized:(気づく)
<to know and understand something, or suddenly begin to understand it>
I also realized how lucky I'd been to have avoided serious ailments and accidents while on the road.
2,witnessed:(目の当たりにする)
<someone who sees a crime or an accident and can describe what happened>
I even witnessed the medical treatment in Mongolia through the eyes of my wife, who was in a hospital there during a summer visit to her home town of Ulan Bator.
3,universal healthcare:(国民皆保険制度)
the heated debate over universal healthcare insurance in the United States seems a little silly.
4,silly: (ばかげている)
<not sensible, or showing bad judgment>
For some of us living in Japan who take decent healthcare for granted,
the heated debate over universal healthcare insurance in the United States seems a little silly.
5,affordable:(手頃な価格の)
<to have enough money to buy or pay for something>
If having access to more or less affordable healthcare makes one a socialist,
then I guess that would make almost all of us living in Japan socialists.
6,aging population(高齢化)
Japan may have to deal with complex social problems involved in caring for an aging population
7,flawlessl(そつなく)
<having no mistakes or marks, or not lacking anything >
It functions flawlessly and even though health insurance and healthcare are among my largest expenses.
8,awfully(とても、重ね重ね)
<very>
I'm awfully glad to have it.
9,diabetes(糖尿病)
< a serious disease in which there is too much sugar in your blood>
check on the progress of my diabetes.
10,financial ruin(経済的破綻)
<ruin means to spoil or destroy something completely>
but as it stands now people here don't face financial ruin and bankruptcy on a scale like the U.S., where according to a recent study, 62 percent of bankruptcies were related to health care costs.

People have different culture,religion, speces,environment.
But, we are same human!!
Different is natural and we can comunicate each of other.
Please know each of other and talk your countries.

I hope become peaceful around the world.

***Worlds I couldn't understand. ***
perilous time:(危険な時代)
We are living in perilous times.
ominous dangers :(忌まわしい危険)
TV news speaks of the ominous dangers the world is facing.
confrontation:(対立)
Congo and Sudan. Still, there's military buildup in other parts of the globe and fear of more confrontations.
ineffective:(無力な)
It is since many people have largely ceased to have hope for the future that they have become violent and ineffective in life.
virtue:(美徳)
A continual looking forward to a nonviolent world is not a form of escapism, but an important human virtue.
indignation:(怒り、憤い)
The indignation he felt toward the oppressive British colonialists was not just mere anger; it was a wrath of love, faith and hope which emanated from the bottom of his heart and soul.
wisdom:(知恵、賢明さ)achieve:(成功をおさめる、達する)
That's why he resorted to his wisdom rather than to machine guns to achieve his goal.
sacrifice:(犠牲、いけにえ)
Peace has been a temporary relief, little more than an intermission between battles entailing much sacrifice.
karma:(宿命)
The cycle of war and peace — can this karma of humanity be overcome without the spirit of nonviolence?

That all.

Many influential politicians in these parties suffered a humiliating defeat.
candidates : (候補者)
"I have mixed feelings about the good news, because many of my fellow candidates lost.
sense of crisis(危機感)
At last individuals have become angry. I think the result mirrors their sense of crisis and their feeling that if things
stay as they are, Japan will sink.
indulged themselves : (~明け暮れて)
When they look carefully at the situation, they are no doubt reminded of those French politicians who, unaware of the simmering rage of the people, indulged themselves in luxuries on the eve of the French Revolution.

Because, I want to know about environment and I 'm studying developing countres.

For example, the Amazon is 240kilometers wide and about 20% of all the world's
clean water is in the Amazon.
The Atlantic Ocean about 1,100 rivers run into the Amazon.
I was very surprised at the fact!!
Environment is very important of all over the world.
This fact I knew now.

Recentuly, we broken many forest, I warry about our the Earth.
I think the relation between environment and development country's people.
In developing country's has any forest and, they can sell them.
but, they did'nt know how affect to environment.
After that, when they knew about that, it is too late.
They lost manything and get a vicious spiral.

What are we do?
Firstly, we knew "What happen "at the Earth.
We must act to save the Earth☆
